The field of education abroad is riddled with challenges. In every community, those challenges can be amplified and unique ones can exist. In Baltimore, we've worked hard to identify those challenges, and create an organization that’s uniquely suited to help the city and the field overcome them. Curious how we’re doing it? Check out some of the ways below and throughout our page.
Each year we raise thousands of dollars for our scholarship fund. The purpose of this fund is to assist undergraduate students at Baltimore-area higher education institutions fulfill an international credit-bearing experience. For more information, check out our scholarships page.
Twice a year we hold Think Tank sessions to work through potential solutions to problems facing the field -- particularly the EA field in Baltimore. These sessions feature guest speakers and provide participants the opportunity to share best practices from their campus and identify creative solutions to their challenges.
Throughout the city of Baltimore and across the country, we present at conferences on the way we've tackled the education abroad challenges Baltimore faces. These efforts align with our goals to motivate and inspire EA professions to collaborate and seek innovative solutions to study abroad challenges, support local EA professionals in improving education abroad programs and practices in the community and at their institutions, and provide training and counseling to local stakeholders on entering the EA field and furthering their professional development
A critical component to the success of our organization and Education Abroad practitioners is the ability to connect with one another to share ideas. We attempt to get together with local professionals once a month for insight on how to guide our organization forward and exchange ideas.
