Our Story

History

In 2015, our Co-Founders, Larry and Liz, attended a session at the Generation Study Abroad summit titled,  "Making Study Abroad Work for Your State."  During the session, Liz & Larry  were impressed with the work being done by PDX Abroad and the efforts they were
tackling to overcome the challenges of their students and local Study Abroad staff in
their region.   It was at that point that our co-founders reflected on the fact that our
community has it's own unique challenges that have yet to be solved through traditional
means.    As such, BMore Abroad was formed with the goal of providing a space for EA professionals to network, share ideas, develop professionally, innovate and work
collaboratively to improve the field of international education and raise money for
scholarship opportunities for local students

Mission

BMore Abroad works within Baltimore and the state of Maryland to increase access to study abroad for local students and engage professionals, students, & alumni towards the holistic advancement of the field of education abroad.

Purpose

BMore Abroad is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes.  Strong City Baltimore (EIN # 52-0897806) is pleased to serve as the Fiscal Sponsor for BMore Abroad.  Through this fiscal sponsorship relationship, BMore Abroad is able to receive tax-deductible contributions, including in-kind, grant awards, and financial contributions in support of its work.
